How To Look After Your Skin This Winter…

In the Winter months we can often neglect our skin care regime, mainly because we spend most of our time covering it up until the Spring. However, with the change in temperatures, it really is even more important to keep our skin hydrated. Therefore I thought I would share some top tips and some amazing products for keeping your skin happy and healthy this Winter…

After a long day at work, there’s no better treat than a nice long soak in the bath. Try to keep the water on the warmer side, rather than to hot, as to much hot water can dry your skin out.

It’s also really important to remove dead skin cells to, this helps keep skin looking and feeling at its best. I personally love “Body Smooth” by Tropic and would say to use this or a similar product at least once or twice a week.

Another firm favourite of mine is “Body Love” also from Tropic. It smells like Lemon Meringue Pie and just melts into your skin. This moisturiser can be used all over the body and works wonders for enhancing the appearance of skin as well as keeping it hydrated.

Even though the Winter months will make you feel less thirsty, it’s just as important to drink plenty of water. This not only greatly improves the appearance of skin, it also helps reduce fatigue, flush out toxins and improve your mood.

Whenever we head outside, we all naturally wrap up, however one area that is always exposed is our face. Therefore I would always recommend protecting your skin with an SPF Moisturiser, Foundation and Lip Balm. Just because we can’t feel the warmth of the sun, the harmful rays of UVA and UVB are still there.

If you would like to find out more more about Tropic Skincare, then feel free to head over to their website; where you can discover all of the wonderful products on offer. (I’m not an affiliate for the brand, I just really enjoy using products that work)

I hope you have found this useful and as always, if you have any questions or little gems to share of your own for happier, healthier skin then I would love to hear from you. You can contact me via email; or by popping over to my Facebook page.

Until next time, here’s to an amazing month and taking care of ourselves…x

Great advice Nina! One of my self care goals this year is to take better care of my skin. Got some good face creams for Christmas. I’m a devil for a hot, hot bath though, so better watch out for that one 🙂 x

My face has been particularly dry over the last few weeks. I’ve had a cold so not sure if this has affected it too? I love my baths at hot as I can stand them so will make a note, thank you. In this cold weather, I do love a steam room session so I’m hoping that they will help x

I’m rubbish at looking after my skin, I don’t seem to find anything that erases the sandpaper effect. In fact its got so bad, that now I purchase an expensive cream from the U.S.A which costs me an arm & a leg in postage, so I am happy to be introduced to your recommendations.
I have recently started a journal which has you mark how many glasses of water you have drunk each day, which is a real wake up call when I repeatedly put down two! It’s so easy to drink during the summer, but the winter is definitely more challenging. Thank you Nina for reminding me that I must look after my skin.

Ah Rebecca, you are so welcome! A good tip for water is to keep a big bottle on your desk, for example a litre or litre and a half and just keep drinking it throughout the day. Keeping our skin hydrated is definitely key and will improve condition dramatically. If you need anymore advice or tips, please don’t hesitate to get in touch! Keep drinking that water lovely lady!x

I’m so terrible with water, and have developed a bit of a tea addiction since having my son. Must get into the habit of drinking more. Thanks for sharing!
