How To Look After Your Hair Whilst On Holiday…

Looking after our hair whilst on holiday is just as important as looking after our skin. We can often forget when applying suncream, that our hair and scalp needs the same protection. Therefore this month, I wanted to share with you 5 hair products you’ll want to take on your Summer getaway…

Wella Sun Hair & Body Shampoo…

This product helps to remove impurities from sunscreen, salt, and chlorinated water while actively restoring moisture. It will leave your hair and skin feeling invigorated.  It’s a great space saver too, as there is no need to take a separate shower gel.

Wella Sun Express Conditioner…

After shampooing your hair, towel dry and apply Wella Sun Express Conditioner. By applying a small amount to the mid lengths and ends, this will help to replenish any lost moisture. For a more intensive treatment, leave on for 10-15 minutes.

Wella Sun Protection Spray…

Apply to hair and scalp this before going out in the sun. It’s unique formula helps protect against UV rays, whilst its vitamin complex helps to restore moisture.

Wonder Balm…

This not only smells divine, it will provide instant deep nourishment for smoothness, manageability and movement. Simply apply to damp hair on mid lengths and ends and style as usual, without rinsing out.

Ocean Spritz…

Depending on the destination and humidity levels, styling our hair on holiday can be sometimes be a challenge. You may find it easier to embrace a beach waved look or a more textured look for shorter styles. Ocean Spritz is perfect for this, it’s a natural mineral salt spray that helps protect hair against dehydration and UV damage. Spray into dry or slightly damp hair, then scrunch or shape your beach style using your fingers.

If you would like any additional information about any of these products or some styling tips, feel free to pop over to my Facebook page, I would love to hear from you. In the meantime, wherever you are jetting off to this Summer, I hope you have a well deserved, relaxing break!

How To Have Beautiful Hair This Summer

The Summer holidays are almost here; it’s a chance to escape for a while and enjoy some well deserved rest and relaxation. However, it’s important to remember the sun can be just as damaging to our hair as it can be to our skin. Therefore this month, I wanted to share some of my top tips for keeping your hair healthy and beautiful this Summer…

Before you go, I would recommend having a trim and a gloss applied. A gloss contains no colour pigment so is great for hi-lights as well as whole head colours. It’s packed full of the right ingredients to give your hair amazing shine and leave it feeling silky smooth.

To avoid burning your hair and scalp in the sun, ensure that you treat yourself to a gorgeous new hat. This will also help protect your eyelids where the skin in naturally thinner.

As many of us know it’s important to apply sunscreen at least 30 minutes before we go out in the sun, but many of us forget about our hair. Wella Sun Protection Spray effectively helps to protect the hair against UV rays during sun exposure.

I wouldn’t leave home without Wella Sun Hair & Body Shampoo. This gently removes impurities from sunscreen, salt, and chlorinated water while actively restoring moisture. It will leave your hair and skin feeling invigorated.  It’s a great space saver too, as there is no need to take a separate shower gel.

After a day at the beach, shampoo your hair and apply Wella Sun Express Conditioner to towel dried hair. By applying a small amount to the mid lengths and ends, this will help to replenish any lost moisture. For a more intensive treatment, leave on for 10-15 minutes.

Styling our hair can be tricky whilst on holiday and depending on location the air can often be damp and humid. Therefore I would maybe suggest embrace your “holiday style.” A Sea Salt Spray, like Wella Ocean Spritz can be great for both long and short hair to give you more of a natural beach waved look.

In the meantime, wherever you are off to, I hope you have a fabulous holiday and enjoy every moment!

July Blog: Is Your Tan Really Worth It?

Is Your Tan Really Worth It-

We all love a holiday and the feeling of just being able to “get away” from it all. There is no better feeling than sand between your toes and the warm sun on your skin. Therefore this month, I wanted to share some things you can do to keep your skin looking at its best this Summer.

I am sure that we have all seen people on holiday, applying their tanning oil and practically cooking themselves in the midday sun, just to get that all important tan. However, with skin cancer figures increasing each year, is it all really worth it? Damage to our skin caused by the sun is often irreversible, leaving us looking older than we are, and who wants that? (As women, we spend a fortune each year on beauty creams, lotions and potions to give us the appearance of younger looking skin!)

It’s no secret how passionate I am about spray tanning and the benefits it gives, but this is so much more than that. You can still have that “ultimate tan” you dream of,  but in a completely safe and streak free way. Plus, with the good old British Summer, we can never be sure if the sun will make an appearance from one day to the next.

I am proud to work with the market leaders in tanning, Sienna X. The solutions they create offer a shade to suit every skin tone, with no streaks and definitely no “Orange.” So, my question is, can we really afford not to fake it?

The only thing a spray tan won’t give you, is skin cancer and premature ageing! For me, that’s a win, win! I can still have the appearance of looking beautifully tanned, but without any of the risk! Here are some other handy tips and tricks to keep you safe in the sun….

It is recommend that sunscreen should be applied at least half an hour before going out in the sun and for ultimate coverage, look for SPF25 and upwards. This will protect against the UVA and UVB rays. The UVA rays are those which penetrate the deeper layer of the skin and the UVB rays are those that cause the superficial layers of the skin.

Taking time out of the sun is so important, especially when it’s at it’s highest point. A good tip to remember is pay attention to your shadow. If your shadow is shorter than you are, then take a rest and find some shade.

Wearing a sarong and a hat will work wonders for giving you a break from the midday sun and ensure that you regularly re-apply your sunscreen throughout the day.

We all know how much better we feel with a tan, it’s all part of the appeal of going on holiday. If this has resonated with you, I would love for you to leave a comment for me below. Maybe you’ve never tried a spray tan and this has made you think differently about them? Or maybe you are someone who just couldn’t leave home without your tanning oil and low factor sunscreen, but all I ask is that you ask yourself this question; Is your tan really worth it?….
