What Will Re-Opening Look Like?

I hope you and your families are keeping well and staying safe. I just wanted to say a massive thank you to each of you who have sent me the loveliest messages during this lockdown period, it really has meant so much!

Following on from the government’s announcement on 23rd June, I’m delighted to let you know that from the 4th July, I can re-open for hairdressing services.

At the moment, my other services, such as Tanning, Nails and Facial Waxing are still not able to be booked or take place until the government release further guidance and give the go-ahead. I am of course keeping a close eye on this and will let you know of any further changes as soon as they are published.

I cannot wait to see you all, I want to do this in the safest and fairest way possible. This post will detail my plans for re-opening what that will look like.

What Happens Next?…

Over the coming week or so, I will be in touch with each of you to reschedule your hair appointment. Please do bear with me, I will get to you as soon as I can, but I will be making my way through my list in date order from the 23rd March, which was the day lockdown began and all treatments stopped.

I’m hoping this won’t apply as I kindly asked for you not to colour your own hair at home… However if you are a lady who has colour applied directly on to your scalp and you have coloured your hair during this lockdown period, please do let me know when we speak, as before I see you for a colour appointment, you will need to have a skin test. Due to the recommendations from Wella and my insurance company, I would be unable to apply any colour to your scalp until a skin test has been carried out.

When We See Each Other…

As much as I have missed each and everyone of you, for the foreseeable I will aim to keep as much distance during your appointment as physically possible. It is not compulsory at this stage for you to wear a face covering, however should you wish to, please feel free to do so.

I will also be running through a client questionnaire with you on your appointment, which will need to be signed off using your own pen, so please ensure you bring one with you if your appointment is at my home.

I will be carrying antibacterial hand sanitiser, Dettol spray and Barbicide so that I am able to sanitise both myself and equipment when out visiting you in your home. This will include sanitising and disinfecting my footwear before I enter your home.

Appointments throughout the day will need to run slightly differently as I’ll need to have time in between clients to ensure that all equipment is sanitised and disinfected thoroughly. Your co-operation and support on this will be very much needed and appreciated by arriving for any appointment, whether that be at my home or yours, on time. I cannot stress enough how important this will be going forward to ensure that each and everyone of you gets the appointment they so desperately need.

If your appointment is at my home, I would kindly ask you to please bring with you a bottle of water or your own tea or coffee in a travel cup. I will also be doing the same when I come to visit you in your home too.

If you or any member of your household are displaying any symptoms or feeling unwell in any way prior to or after your appointment, it is imperative you let me know as soon as possible.

To Put Your Mind At Rest…

Over the last 3 months, I’ve been doing all I can to increase my already high standard of health, safety and hygiene. I am more than happy to share with you the extra safety precautions and steps I have put in place to keep us both safe. These measures include the recommended PPE, regular hand washing throughout your appointment, sanitation and disinfection of all of my equipment before and after each client, along with double bagging all of my client gowns and towels until they are then washed at 60 degrees at the end of each day.

How To Make Your January Amazing

January can feel like such a long month and often a little flat. The evenings are dark and the hustle and bustle of Christmas is all over.

Over the last few years, I have learnt to really embrace January. It’s a fresh start, a clean slate. I like to think of it as a brand new book, 365 pages to create whatever you dream of! So this month, I thought I would share with you how you can make your January amazing.

Reflection…

The first thing I do is to take some time to reflect on the previous year. As humans, I think we can often be so quick to look forward to the next “thing”, the next goal we want to achieve. But how often do we look back to appreciate how far we have come? A lot can change in a year and whether that’s good or bad, there will always be experiences to learn from.

Dream Big…

I’ll also create my dream jar. This contains all my wishes and goals for the year. I write them all down on a piece of paper, fold them up and place them inside the jar. Each day I’ll pick one out and read it out loud. I then close my eyes and visualise that wish or goal coming true.

Make It Happen…

Each year, I create a vision board for the year. This is kind of like a mood-board for all the things you want to bring into your life! If you are reading this thinking; “What on earth is a vision board?” I’ll explain. A vision board is a selection of pictures that you collect from magazines, Pinterest or wherever else you want to. The pictures resonate with something you’d like to do or something you’d like to feel. Maybe somewhere you would like to visit or something you would like to buy. One rule for your vision board though is dream big! If you’ve ever read the book “The Secret” you’ll know that Law of Attraction, (LoA) is a really powerful thing. Once my vision board is created, I hang it on my office wall so that I see it and connect with it everyday.

Behind The Scenes: London Spray Day With Sienna X

A few weeks ago, on a wet and windy September day I headed into London to assist Sienna X’s Brand Ambassador, Carly Hobbs at a press event which was being held at Sienna X’s PR Agency, which is just off Oxford Street.

For me, there is just something about London that I love, the hustle and bustle, the sights and the fact that you are never far away from a coffee shop! Anyway I digress, as I got off the tube at Tottenham Court Road, the offices were just a short walk away (luckily the rain had stopped, so at least I wouldn’t arrive, looking like a drowned rat)

After arriving at the offices, I was greeted by Lily, who works for the PR agency. Soon after, Carly arrived and we went went downstairs to the tanning suite. It was beautifully set up full of products and Carly began to run through the schedule for the day.

Appointments started at 2pm and would run through until 7pm. We would be tanning members of the press, magazine editors, beauty bloggers and more.

The day absolutely flew by and before I knew it, it was 7.00pm! I’d had the best day talking all things tanning and helping the press to glow, the Sienna X way! It was time to get packed up and head back to Waterloo for the journey home.

As I walked back to the tube station, I couldn’t help but have a huge smile on my face! This day had been something I’d been wanting to do for so long in more ways than one…

For those of you who know me, you’ll know that one of my fears is the underground (sorry I’m going to rephrase that, WAS one of my fears!) It had always freaked me out, for one thing, the escalators are almost vertical and secondly, I’ve always had a fear of being lost by myself, having no clue how to get back.

When I say it out loud, it sounds so ridiculous. I know hundreds of people do it every day, you may even be one of them, who literally jump on and off the tube and don’t even think about it. But for me, the story was different, However, I faced my fear and did it anyway! Sometimes you’ve just got to pull up your sparkly big girl pants, believe in yourself and do these things, right? Right!

So, in more ways than one, this will be a day that I’ll never forget! A huge thank you to Sienna X, Carly and B The Agency for having me!
