How To Revitalise Your Skin This Summer

We all crave beautiful looking skin and with the recent stress and emotion of everything going on in our world, I wanted to share my top tips on how you can revitalise your skin this summer…

Using good quality products and using them consistently in key. Personally I love the Sienna X Skincare Collection. It’s everything I need it to be and more. The products are amazing value, clinically proven and cruelty free and are packed full of natural ingredients.

The Cleansing Lotion: This is perfect to use as a first cleanse or to use as part of a double cleanse. The creamy lotion contains 97% of natural ingredients and helps to restore moisture and remove make up effectively.

The Toning Solution: Infused with a fresh rose water fragrance, this toner helps to cool, hydrate and rebalance your skin. In the past I’ve used a well known toner that made me skin feel so tight and dehydrated. This is so delicate but does the job! The Facial Polish: This is the exfoliator within the range and I love it, the mineral volcanic pumice helps to remove congested areas as well as brightening and purifying your skin.

The Day Cream: This contains SPF30, an anti pollution formula as well as Marine Bamboo which is known for fighting the damaging effects of blue light and infra read type A.

The Miracle Mask: Another of my absolute favourites within the collection. This definitely has the right name! It contains 10% Manuka Honey and I can honestly say, my skin has never felt so hydrated and nourished! You can use this as a quick 10 minute treatment or leave a fine layer overnight and rinse off in the morning.

Why Your Self Care Matters Now More Than Ever

Self care is something we often forget to make a priority at the best of times, but now more than ever I really think it matters. With the recent Coronavirus situation changing many of our lives, I wanted to share some tips with you on how you can incorporate a little self care into your life.

Start Something New…

Do you have a hobby? If not, maybe now is the perfect time to start. What do you like doing? What helps relax your mind and just escape for a while? Up to now, I’d never really had a hobby, I’m a bit of a workaholic, so planning work things, even on my days off didn’t really feel like work because I enjoyed it. But I came to realise, I needed something more; so at I’ve taken this opportunity to try my hand at learning modern calligraphy.

Create an Evening Routine…

First of all, I light my favourite scented candle, this for me is always from the Gatcombe Candle Co. range. These candles are by far, the best I’ve ever had. The stunning scents are out of this world and really help me to relax. I loved them so much, I became a stockist!

When it comes to my skincare, I’ve been using products that are infused with essential oils such as The Cleansing Balm and The Facial Oil from Sienna X. Not only do these products feel amazing on my skin, they also help to relax my senses too. My final step for my facial is using The Miracle Mask, I  lay on my bed allowing the mask to do its magic, close my eyes and listen to relaxing music while the beautiful scent of Tigerlilly Blossom fills my room.

Calm Your Mind…

If you are like me and struggle to switch off before bed, maybe try an audio book or podcast. There are lots of different categories to choose from, so something for everyone. This just helps to quieten my thoughts and relax, allowing me to get a better nights sleep.

Can Sleep Really Help Give You Beautiful Skin?

We all know that sleep is a key ingredient for making us feel alert and energised, but can it really help give us beautiful skin too?

As we snooze, our skin gets to work to repair itself and studies suggest that new skin cells grow faster when we are asleep. It’s also the time that our skin produces collagen which helps to plump it up, leading to firmer, smoother skin and fewer wrinkles. Research also suggests that the blood flow to our face is also increased as we sleep, which helps to give our complexion a healthier appearance when we wake.

Have you ever wondered why many skincare companies offer specific nighttime serums, oils and masks? These products are specifically designed to aid our skin during the night. By having a good nighttime routine, this not only helps to relax your busy mind before bed, it also helps you get the most from the products themselves.

So what is it a good night-time routine? I would recommend using a good quality cleanser Toner and Moisturiser. I would always double cleanse and for me personally, I love the The Skincare Collection from Sienna X. The Cleansing Balm helps to remove the negative traces left behind from pollution too. The first cleanse helps to remove make up, dirt and excess oils. I would then use The Cleansing Lotion to hydrate and purify my skin. The Toning Solution can then be spritzed over my face or applied to a cotton pad, followed by The Eye Cream, The Miracle Mask and or The Facial Oil.

Our skin is the largest organ we have and we need to take care of it. Even if you are someone that doesn’t wear a lot of make up day to day, you and your skin can still benefit massively from a healthy skincare routine and a good nights sleep!
