In recent months, you may have worn less make up than ever before. But with that in mind, could it possibly be time for a spring clean of your make up bag? Prior to Covid19, many of us would apply our make up on daily basis and only replace it when something runs out, dried up or we fancy a change… Cosmetic companies are not obliged to print an expiration date on their products, but did you know that we should in fact, replace our mascara every three months? If not, you are not alone!
I’ve created a really easy guide to help you know when it’s time to show your products the bin and how you can get the best from the products and tools you use…
Finally, here are just a few tips on getting the most out of your products and tools…
When applying your mascara, try not to “pump” your mascara wand in and out of the tube. This creates air inside and will cause the product to break down more quickly and dry it out. My recommendation would be to twist the wand in and out.
To get the best out of your eyeliner pencils and lip liners, ensure you sharpen them regularly. This not only does this improve the application, it helps reduce bacteria too.
I would also recommend cleaning your make-up brushes once a month. If you are unsure what to use, I personally use the MAC Brush Cleanser. You only need a small amount, but it quickly removes product build up and helps take care of your brushes too. If you use a cosmetic sponge to apply your foundation, I would clean these once a week and replace after three months.
Until next time…
Love, Nina x
