If you are new to spray tanning you may have heard some things that have made you think twice before booking an appointment. So, this month I wanted to share some of the most popular tanning myths I hear about and let you know the real facts…

Spray Tans Make You Look Orange…

I’m glad to say that tanning has come so far in recent years and gone are the days where “Orange” was the only shade available. With Sienna X you can be guaranteed of a natural, flawless looking tan every-time. There are only two reasons a tan can look orange and that is because the wrong shade has been applied for your skin tone or the solution been applied incorrectly.

Moisturise Your Skin On The Day Of Your Tan…

Please don’t ever do this. Moisturiser will create a barrier between your skin and the solution being applied. You should exfoliate your skin prior to having a tan to remove any dead skin cells, this will leave you with the perfect base for your self tan or spray tan to be applied. Ensure you are also free make-up, deodorant and perfume free.

Spray Tans Only Last For A Few Days…

How well your spray tan lasts is down to a few key factors. One is how well you have prepped your skin prior to your tanning appointment and the other is how well you look after it. By moisturising daily with an oil free moisturiser such as Radiance Body Balm you will be doing all you can to increase the longevity of your spray tan. Many of my clients get around 8-10 days out of their tans so correct preparation and aftercare advice absolutely key.
