Tanning can feel like a daunting experience, whether that’s booking a professional spray tan or tanning yourself at home. Therefore, this month I wanted to share with you some of the most frequently asked questions I get and give you the facts so that you can feel the most beautiful version of yourself…
Q: I have fair skin and have never tanned before, what would be a good product for me to try at home to see if I like it?
A: I would always recommend using the Sienna X Gradual Self Tan first of all. It’s like a moisturiser, so has no guide colour to it, but it’s a really great product to use as you can gradually build up the colour to your desired shade. The Sienna X Sleep Drops are also a really nice way to add a little colour to your face too! You would just apply 1-2 drops to your night cream or serum and then rub all over the face and blend into the neck area.
Q: I’m really worried that if I have a spray tan, I’ll be Orange! Can you give me any advice?
A: Spray tanning often gets a bad reputation for looking Orange and smelling of biscuits! Sienna X formulations are packed full of natural ingredients to ensure you not only look beautiful in a natural glow, but you smell good too. During a consultation, you should be asked about your skin, how well you tan naturally in the sun and what your tan is for. This then helps your therapist advise you on the perfect solution for you. Spray tans are only ever orange, if the wrong shade is applied, or if the application has been done incorrectly.
Q: What can I use at home to avoid those tell-tale signs of tanning?
A: I would always recommend Sienna X Secret Tan Primer. This helps to stop the tan being too heavily absorbed into dryer areas such as, elbows, knees, hands and feet. You would just apply and then be able to use your favourite Sienna X self tanning product over the top.
Q: Can I still get a spray tan whilst I’m pregnant?
A: I would always recommend after the first trimester (12 weeks) hormones have settled down and a spray tan would be perfectly fine to have done. It is the safest form of tanning you can have.
Q: Are Sienna X products vegan friendly?
A: Yes. All of the products within the range are all vegan friendly, cruelty free and paraben free too. If you are an extreme vegan, the only product that wouldn’t be suitable for you is the moisturiser; Radiance Body Balm as this contains a small percentage of Lanolin.
Q: Can I have a spray tan before going on holiday?
A: Absolutely you can! There’s no better feeling that glowing with confidence from the start of your holiday. You would still need to apply your SPF as the spray tan solution doesn’t contain it, but it does allow you to build up a natural tan over the top.
I hope you have found this helpful. If you have any other questions about spray tanning or self tanning, please feel free to get in touch by leaving a comment below or alternatively, you can pop over to my Facebook page.
Until next time, glow with confidence…
Love,
Nina x
