How To Have Radiant Skin This Winter

Untitled design

Throughout the winter months, the colder temperatures can leave our skin feeling dehydrated which can lead to irritation and sensitivity. Therefore this month, I wanted to share 5 five easy ways you can keep your skin happy, healthy and looking radiant.

Drink Water…

I know the idea of having a hot drink on a cold day is far more appealing, but it’s just as important to keep our skin hydrated throughout the winter months as we do in the summer months. By drinking 6-8 glasses of water a day, this helps to flush out toxins, renew skin cells and helps maintain blood pressure.

Cleansing Balm…

This luxury balm removes even long wear and waterproof makeup, (making it perfect for the party season) whilst deeply cleansing away the day and removing negative traces left behind from pollution. It contains Incha Inchi Oil which hydrates and nourishes the skin. It also restructures and repairs deep down which helps to maintain youthfulness and elasticity of the skin.

Miracle Mask…

There is no better treat for your skin than this! The most revolutionising moisture hit in a mask. Natural Manuka Honey helps to retain moisture with anti-inflammatory and antioxidant benefits, helping the skin appear instantly brighter and blemish free.

Rose Water…

The perfect duo of skincare and tanning! This lightweight and hydrating rose water, with tanning actives, allows you to build a natural, healthy looking glow. Blended with Chicory Root extract to rebalance and replenish skin, while protecting it from environmental pollution. Organic Rose extract supports the skins pH balance, hydrates and tones for a radiant healthy glow.

Skin Finish…

Ideal for the face and body, this illuminating mist instantly brightens skin making it perfect to use with or without a tan. It’s formulated with highly active moisturising and antioxidant ingredients including Green Tea to ensure skin moisture is restored.

How To Make Your Holiday Glow Last Longer

Tan

With Summer holidays over and your tan fading fast, post holiday blues might be creeping in. Therefore, this month, I thought I would share with you some really easy ways you can make your holiday glow last longer.

Exfoliate regularly as this will help to remove all of the dead skin cells. This keeps your skin healthy and bright and creates the perfect base for your tan to be applied. Keep skin soft by moisturising with the gorgeous Sienna X Radiance Body Balm.

Use a Gradual Self Tan Lotion, my personal favourite is of course the amazing Sienna X Gradual Self Tan. It allows you to build up your colour gently and is packed full of hydrating ingredients that works wonders for your skin.

If you just want to add some colour to your face and neck, why not try Sienna X Sleep Tan Drops. You can add 1-2 drops to your night time moisturiser, night cream or serum and wake up feeling radiant.

To add a beautiful radiance to your skin, I cannot recommend highly enough the Sienna X Skin Finish Illuminating Mist. It enhances your skin with or without a tan and is suitable to use all over the face and body. To create a natural, dewy finish to your make up, spray lightly over the face, allow to settle and apply your make up as normal. At the end, apply a final light spritz and you’ll be good to glow.

If self tanning at home isn’t your thing, why not come and see me for a professional spray tan. I honestly believe a spray tan is so much more than a solution being applied to your skin, it’s a mindset game changer. It will have you glowing with confidence and feeling the most beautiful version of yourself.

For more information on any of the products I’ve featured this month or if you would like some advice on how to apply them, please feel free to get in touch. As always, you can leave me a comment below or pop over to my Facebook page and come and say hello.

Until next time, keep glowing!

How To Look After Your Skin This Summer

Be Beautiful Hair & Beauty Blog Post Image

Summer getaways are just around the corner. We all love a holiday and that feeling of heading to the airport early, getting those last minute essentials before two weeks of sun and relaxation! We can’t wait to get on that beach, get “the tan” and show off our golden glow as soon as we get back, but at what cost?

Recently, I took an accredited course with Skcin UK, an amazing charity that helps raise awareness of skin cancer within the UK. As a Spray Tan Therapist, I see skin on a daily basis and so wanted to learn more about what to look out for as early detection of skin cancer can make a huge difference…

The statistics below were provided by Cancer Research UK in 2018 and are frightening to say the least…

  • Skin cancer is the most common and fastest rising cancers in the UK.
  • Over the last 25 years, rates of melanoma in Britain have risen faster, killing more people than in the sunshine capital of the world, Australia.
  • There are over 2,400 deaths from melanoma each year
  • Sunbed users and active tan seekers are at greater risk. Using a sunbed just once a month can increase a persons risk of developing skin cancer by more than 50% and regular sunbed users under the age of 35 increases a persons risk by an alarming 87%
  • It’s a common misconception that using a sunbed will prepare or protect the skin against burning before going on holiday – it won’t. It just increases damage and risk, along with premature ageing, wrinkling and sagging of the skin.
  • A massive 86% of melanoma cases are actually preventable!

With stats like that, I wanted to share with you 5 steps you can take to stay safe in the sun this Summer…

1

SLIP on clothing, this can be one of the most effective barriers between our skin and the sun. Make sure shoulders are protected as they can burn easily.

2

SLOP on SPF 30+ Sunscreen, make sure it carries a UVA symbol and apply generously at least 20 minutes before sun exposure.

3

SLAP on a wide brimmed hat to shield face, neck and ears.

4

SLIDE on the shades and go for high quality protection, look for the european CE mark which indicates a safe level of protection.

5

SHADE from the sun where possible, particularly between the hours of 11am-3pm when the sun is at its hottest.

By following these steps above, you’ll be doing all you can to take care of your skin. The safest way you can tan is either a professional spray tan or self tanning. It will give you that golden glow you crave, it will give you the confidence to hit the beach from the very start of your holiday, the only thing it won’t give you is skin cancer!

If you take nothing else away from this blog post, please do one thing for me, check your moles and if you notice even the slightest change, whether that’s in size, shape, colour, becoming itchy or raised, please go and see your GP. It might just save your life!

Until next time, enjoy your holiday and look after your skin this Summer!

Love,
