A Facial is sometimes seen as more of a treat than a necessity, but did you know there are more benefits than you might think? This month I thought I’d share the facts and why a facial is so much more than just an hour of relaxation…
- Detoxifies Skin… Removing your make up with just a wipe at the end of the day doesn’t count as cleansing your face. In fact, all this does is move the dirt around it. During your facial, your skin will be deeply cleansed and exfoliated to leave a brighter, smoother and refreshed complexion.
- Boosts Collagen… Collagen is effectively the “scaffolding’ of our faces. This is the protein which helps give our skin its plumpness. As we age, our collagen production decreases and so by having a regular facial (every 4-6 weeks, depending on skin type), this can help to improve and boost our collagen production.
- Facial Massage… The massage element of a facial is of course one of the most relaxing parts. However, did you know that it also helps to improve blood flow, carrying fresh oxygen to the cells and drain away the toxins via our lymphatic system? Skin will look smoother and less puffy due to the increase in cell renewal.
