Self tanning can feel like a daunting experience and we all crave a flawless, natural glow. Therefore, this month, I wanted to share my top tips on how you can self tan in three easy steps. Whether you want to self tan at home for the first time or prolong your glow, I’ve got some really easy tips to help you tan like a pro.
Firstly you’ll need to exfoliate your whole body, paying particular attention to hands, elbows, knees and feet. Personally I love the Sienna X Polishing Body Scrub for this. Unlike some exfoliators, this gently removes the dead skin cells, without being too abrasive which will help you create the perfect base for your self tan to be applied.
You’ll then need the Sienna X Perfect Self Tan Primer. I recommend applying this to any dry areas, such as hands, elbows, knees and feet. This will avoid your tan being too heavily absorbed and give you a beautiful finish. This is also really great to use around your hairline and on eyebrows, especially if you have fair hair.
When it comes to applying your self tan, the options can be confusing. If you are new to tanning or have fair skin, I would start off with the Sienna X Gradual Self Tan. This doesn’t have a guide colour and looks very similar to a moisturiser. You can also build up your colour to your desired shade as your confidence grows. Alternatively, you can choose from a Lotion, Mousse or Mist.
My personal favourite is the Sienna X Sleep Mousse which is also available in an express version, so you can shower off after just one hour. Take your Sienna X Tanning Mitt and apply your chosen product onto the mitt. I personally would start on my legs and just apply it in circular, sweeping motions. Your product will go quite far, so start of with a little and then you can always add more as you go. Make your way up your body until you just have hands and feet left to do. You shouldn’t need to apply fresh product to your mitt for these areas as you’ll just be able to sweep over the excess product left on your tanning mitt.
I hope this has helped, if you’d like any additional advice, please feel free to leave a comment below, or contact me over on my Facebook page.
Until next time, glow and be you!
Love,
Nina x
