Is your skin feeling dry or dehydrated? You may be thinking these are the same, but they are in fact different. Dry skin is lacking oil to the skin and dehydration is lacking water to the skin. The Winter months can cause either of these or both so here are some of my top tips to give your skin some extra TLC.
Cleanser…
If you currently use a foaming cleanser, these can often be a quite drying especially during the colder months. Therefore, I would suggest swapping to The Cleansing Balm or The Cleansing Lotion. These are much more nourishing and will hydrate your skin beautifully.
Toner…
Avoid an alcohol based toner, these can strip the skin and dry it out. Swap to The Toning Solution which contains Organic Rose Water, this will help to soothe, hydrate and rebalance your skin.
Exfoliate…
Don’t be put off by exfoliating during the Winter. You should exfoliate 1-2 times per week and I personally love The Facial Polish. It gently removes dead skin cells leaving your skin feeling fresh, super clean and smooth.
Facial Oil…
If you’ve never used one before, now is the perfect time. It will literally become your BFF. The Facial Oil is a lightweight oil which contains Rose Hip Seed Oil which helps to nourish, rejuvenate and naturally brighten skin.
SPF…
Just because there isn’t much sun around at this time of year, you still need an SPF. The Day Cream works beautifully. It contains SPF30 along with an anti-pollution formula to lift and brighten the skin. The added Marine Bamboo also helps to fight against damaging effects of blue light (that we get from phones, tablets and computers).
Finally, take off the day as soon as you get in from the school run or work. Our skin needs extra time to repair from cold weather and the dryness that can be caused from central heating, so don’t make it wait until bedtime.
