5 Beauty Must-Haves You’ll Want This Winter

It’s no secret, I love beauty products and I truly love ones that work and do what they say they will! Therefore this month, I wanted to share my top 5 beauty must-haves you’ll want this Winter.

Liz Earle Deep Nourishing Mask…

From time to time, and especially as the weather begins to get colder, my patch of eczema can start to appear again. This mask has become a real hero product for me and has really helped to keep my skin nourished. Double cleanse as normal, pat dry and then apply a generous layer of the mask, leave for 10-15 minutes and remove with the hot cloth. I promise, your skin will feel absolutely amazing afterwards!

Sienna X One Hour Mousse…

This is my go-to tan and is perfect for those last minute nights out! It allows me to achieve a flawless finish without the 8-10 hour development time. For best results, always pair with the Secret Tan Primer and Mitt. Apply in circular motions, sweeping over hands and feet. Shower off after just 60 minutes* and allow your golden glow to develop over the next 2-8 hours.

*Can be left on for up to 3 hours, depending on desired shade.

Sienna X Radiance Body Balm…

It’s important to keep our skin nourished and hydrated throughout the Winter months. The cold weather and central heating can play havoc and really dry out our skin. I couldn’t be without this! It really enhances the appearance of my skin, even without a tan, plus it smells absolutely divine!

Benefit Mascara “They’re Real”…

I struggled for ages to find a mascara that I liked. I was tired of seeing the adverts, seeing models with beautiful long, voluminous lashes, only to see at the bottom of the screen, “this advert has been filmed with lash inserts” So basically, my lashes aren’t going to look anything like this then are they? However, I’m really glad to say, They’re Real give my lashes a fuller, thicker look… Thank you Benefit Cosmetics for giving us girls a mascara we can rely on!

MAC Pro Longwear Lipstick…

This is one of my favourite lipsticks! It’s really nice to wear, without the sticky feeling that some lipsticks can give and it genuinely lasts really well! There are lots of colours within the Pro Longwear collection to suit every occasion and skin tone. For longer lasting results with any lipstick, I would always use a lip pencil and colour in your full lip. This might sound odd, but give it a try!

First Time Spray Tan? Here’s All You Need To Know…

We all know that feeling a tan gives us, somehow life just feels that little bit better. I’ve been spray tanning for over five years and truly believe that it’s so much more than just a coloured solution being applied to your skin. It’s a mindset game changer and not only improves the appearance of your skin, it makes you feel happier, more confident and slimmer! What’s not to love?

However if you are new to spray tanning, I completely understand that the thought of getting semi naked in front of a complete stranger, mastering the “moves” and getting to grips with sticky feet can feel like a daunting experience. But I promise you, the results will be so worth it and I’m here to guide you through everything you need to know…

It all starts with the preparation! This is key and will help you get the very best from your tan, by exfoliating regularly to remove all those dead skin cells prior to your tanning appointment, you will create the perfect base for your tan to be applied.

At your tanning appointment, be completely natural. Remove all jewellery, moisturiser, deodorant and perfume. We will go through a full consultation to ensure the right solution is picked for you and your skin tone. Also, don’t be afraid to tell me your story, is your tan for a special occasion? How well do you tan in the sun naturally? All of this information will help me create a beautiful, bespoke tan just for you.

When it comes to taking your clothes off, it’s completely normal to feel apprehensive, nervous and vulnerable. However, I will do all I can to put you at ease. I will ask you you to step on to self adhesive pads (known as sticky feet) to avoid any tan being transferred to the soles of your feet. I will then apply barrier cream to specific areas to avoid the tan being too heavily absorbed. I’ll take you through step by step each of the moves to ensure that you have a tan you’ll feel proud to wear.

Once your tan has been applied, we will discuss all of the aftercare and I’ll share some tanning tips with you to ensure that you get the very best from your tan for as long as possible.

All that remains for you to do whilst your tan is developing is absolutely nothing! To get the best results, wear loose fitting clothes, keep cool and relax!
