How To Calm Your Mind When You Feel Overwhelmed

April 1, 2021 By Be Beautiful Hair & Beauty Leave a Comment

Over the past year, many of our lives have felt anything but calm. Since the pandemic began, our world seems a very different place to the one we used to know. Keeping our distance from loved ones, many parents home schooling and various lockdowns has taken its toll.

I thought I would share a few ideas with you that really help me when it all feels a little overwhelming.

Journal…

Get a pretty notebook and just write down how you’re really feeling. This book is just for you, be honest and get it all out of your head. I promise, you’ll feel so much better. Even if you are thinking now, I have no idea what to write, it’s amazing how much can come flooding out when you start.

Meditation…

I don’t know about you, but my mind always feels so busy at night. I’ve started to listen to meditation music which has really helped. There are so many on YouTube that just help calm your thoughts.

Self Care…

This is so important and something many of us often neglect. For me, it’s lighting my candles and wax melts, applying a sheet mask and just having some quiet time. For you it may be 20 minute bath or a walk outside by yourself, whatever it is that makes your heart happy, do it!

I hope these ideas have helped and maybe given you some food for thought. I’d love to know how you get on, so feel free to let me know by leaving a comment below…x

Until next time, stay safe and look after you!

Let’s Talk Make Up, Has it Seen Better Days?

March 1, 2021 By Be Beautiful Hair & Beauty Leave a Comment

Has Your Make Up Seen Better Days?

In recent months, you may have worn less make up than ever before. But with that in mind, could it possibly be time for a spring clean of your make up bag? Prior to Covid19, many of us would apply our make up on daily basis and only replace it when something runs out, dried up or we fancy a change… Cosmetic companies are not obliged to print an expiration date on their products, but did you know that we should in fact, replace our mascara every three months? If not, you are not alone!

I’ve created a really easy guide to help you know when it’s time to show your products the bin and how you can get the best from the products and tools you use…

Finally, here are just a few tips on getting the most out of your products and tools…

When applying your mascara, try not to “pump” your mascara wand in and out of the tube. This creates air inside and will cause the product to break down more quickly and dry it out. My recommendation would be to twist the wand in and out.

To get the best out of your eyeliner pencils and lip liners, ensure you sharpen them regularly. This not only does this improve the application, it helps reduce bacteria too.

I would also recommend cleaning your make-up brushes once a month. If you are unsure what to use, I personally use the MAC Brush Cleanser. You only need a small amount, but it quickly removes product build up and helps take care of your brushes too. If you use a cosmetic sponge to apply your foundation, I would clean these once a week and replace after three months.

Until next time…

How To Glow Your Way Through February

February 1, 2021 By Be Beautiful Hair & Beauty Leave a Comment

Winter months can often feel like a struggle with the colder weather and shorter days. Therefore this month, I wanted to help you glow your way through February and share some little things to help lift your mood.

If you have been following me for a while, you’ll know I’m a stockist for the amazing Gatcombe Candle Co. candles and wax melts. I cannot tell you how much I love these. With us spending so much more time at home lately, I don’t know about you, but a beautiful smelling home, makes me feel calm and content.

My next saviour is the Sienna X Rose Water. This just helps give me a beautiful, natural glow. I do tend to use this on my face all year round, but I especially love it in the Winter months. This is so hydrating for your skin too. I use this at night before bed and wake up glowing. Even if you have never self tanned in your life, this is super easy to use I promise!

This continues to be a work in progress for me but we all need a little more Self care. This is so important, probably now more than ever. So make sure you take a little time out just for you. Whether that’s having a bath with a glass of wine or just reading a book for 10 minutes. Our heads and hearts are fragile and taking a little time out for you, isn’t selfish, it’s necessary.

Until next time, stay safe and keep glowing!

Love, Nina x
